What is this Place?
History of DuPont is dedicated to ensure oral, photographic and written documents are retained and made available to the general public. The site is privately funded by our family and we have no intention to make this a site for advertisements or a click for money site.
Where are you guys located?
Our family boasts three generations of living in here DuPont, Washington and we are all proud of that fact. This site isn’t for any political, financial or otherwise related personal benefit. Our unique skill sets and experience allow us to utilize this as our committment to DuPont and our neighbors. Our family and extended family live in Historic Village and new DuPont neighborhoods. For the most of us we all work, live, volunteer and play in here. But technically we live East of the Sales and Delivery Office which is a bit South of the Magazines the swimming hole is about a 1/2 mile from our location. Technically.
Really, It Happened Like That?
Please don’t take everything you read here as fact. We are not professional historians, archaeologists, land surveyors or anything else that would lead someone to believe we have any authoritative information on the information we provide. We are always open to second opinions or corrections on any of the information provided here. In your own search for history you should as well always be looking for as many sources you can. We try to be as historically accurate as possible within our means and we do practice using primary or first source information as much as possible.
On occassion you may wonder if what we write is based on City Opinions? It’s not. In fact any opinion pieces and information posted here is not the opinion of any of the source materials, groups, associations, departments or anyone else other than Pat and Erin.
Anything Else we Should Know?
It rains on occassion here and when it does Sequalitchew Creek looks more like creek. Be careful of the nettles in the Creek Canyon, watchout for poison oak on the bluffs. If you go mini-exploring North of the Creek we would highly advise against licking your fingers or eating while out there. The sames goes with the Lower Power House area near the mouth of the creek. There is a reason most of the land is the DuPont Home Course, golf course.
We are always looking for photos, information and stories to continue our effort. We also are sustaining members of the Washington State Historical Society and Volunteer locally towards the preservation and continued sharing of history.
